IPHONE users have been alerted to a secret feature which could help them avoid frustrating pop-ups when using apps.

One clever TikTok user revealed the hack to fellow iPhone users in a viral clip.

By switching off this feature, users can stop receiving pop-ups asking them to rate apps.

iPhone owners can turn off the pop-ups at any time by going into Settings > App Store > In-App Ratings & Reviews and switching off the toggle.

The feature is automatically enabled on iPhones.

Although keep the toggle switched to green if you want to have your voice heard on how an app is doing.

The feature is designed to help app developers receive feedback on their products, but it can be a hinderance to the daily user.

The digital sphere is riddled with often unwanted pop-ups, from ads to cookies.

While pop-up ads look as though they are here to stay, the Apple App Store hit the pause button on certain ads in October last year.

The App Store halted gambling ads after an outcry from developers to address addiction issues.

The backlash came about when users claimed slot machine apps were being advertised beneath gambling addiction recovery apps.

One more trick!

Did you know your iPhone actually has a hidden button?

It’s the Apple logo on the back of your phone.

You can activate a feature called Back Tap that will perform certain actions when you triple-tap it.

I use it for taking quick screenshots – but you could also make it identify songs with Shazam.

To turn on the feature make sure you’ve updated to iOS 14 or later. To do that, go to Settings > General > Software update.

Then go to your Settings.

Scroll down and tap “Accessibility” and then hit “Touch”.

Then scroll down to “Back Tap”.

You’ll have the choice to turn on “Double Tap” or “Triple Tap”.

Tap to see which features you can now control with either a double or triple tap on the back of your phone.
