GAME stores are slashing prices across the board but not all deals are created equal.

Humble Choice is a monthly selection of free games offered to Humble Bundle subscribers.

Every month, Humble picks several titles that members can claim at no additional cost and keep in their libraries forever.

The subscription costs £8.99 / $11.99 per month, but because the games become yours to keep, you can cancel or skip a month at any time.

A Humble membership also includes discounts of up to 20% on other games on the platform’s store and part of the proceeds go to charities.

April’s Humble Choice games feature eight titles valued at $303 (that’s £240.60), including The Callisto Protocol and Humankind Definitive Edition.

Victoria 3 is arguably the highlight of this collection, as the grand strategy boasts a respectable 81 rating on review aggregator Metacritic.

Set between 1836 and 1936, it lets you control any of the 100-plus countries that existed during the Victorian era.

Unlike other games from Paradox Interactive, such as Europa Universalis and Crusader Kings, Victoria 3 focuses on building an economy and appeasing interest groups rather than on war or dynasty building.

The Callisto Protocol is the spiritual successor of the celebrated survival horror series Dead Space.

It’s all about fighting monstrosities in a high-security prison on Jupiter’s moon Callisto.

The game launched to mixed reviews, but it’s still a bargain in this bundle if you’re a fan of the genre.

Humankind is another recent strategy 4X game, similar to the Civilization series.

You develop civilizations through six ages, controlling cities and troops and engaging with other civilizations.

Humankind is included in the bundle with its Definitive Edition which features both the base game and all extra content.
