OUTRIDERS is the hot new shooter everyone is talking about – but can your PC run it?

We’ve put together a quick guide for PC gamers who want to play the new game.

Outriders – what is it?

Outriders is a brand new third-person shooter that’s out on April 1, 2021.

The game was developed by People Can Fly and published by Square Enix.

It’s designed with RPG elements, but is also built to be co-operative – so it’s great with mates.

You choose one of four classes (Trickster, Pyromancer, Devastator or Technomancer), and then specialise further using skill trees.

The game is set in a sci-fi world where Earth has been abandoned, and a small group of humans survived by leaving the planet on a spaceship.

Players can enjoy the game on Microsoft Windows, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, and Google Stadia.

The game is also available on Xbox Game Pass as part of the standard subscription.

So as long as you have a Game Pass membership, you can play Outriders without having to pay for the full game.

Outriders release date and time for Xbox, PlayStation and PC

The official Outriders release date is April 1.

And the game is available from midnight (that means it’s out now) if you’re buying it on console.

That includes PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S and X.

For PC, the game is launching at different times later in the day.

Here are the launch times:

  • Los Angeles PDT – 9am
  • New York EDT – Noon
  • Brasilia BRT – 1pm
  • London BST – 5pm
  • Berlin CEST – 6pm
  • Abu Dhabi GST – April 1
  • Tokyo JST – 1am (April 2)
  • Canberra AEDT – 3am (April 2)

If you’re a PC player, you can pre-load the game as long as you’ve bought it on Steam.

Outriders PC minimum and recommended requirements

These are the minimum system requirements for Outriders:

  • CPU: Intel i5-3470 or AMD FX-8350
  • RAM: 8GB
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTS 750 Ti or AMD Radeon R9 270x
  • DirectX: 11
  • Storage: 70GB

Here are the recommend system requirements for Outriders:

  • CPU: Intel i7-7700 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600x
  • RAM: 16GB
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 (8GB) or AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 (8GB)
  • DirectX: 12
  • Storage: 70GB

And these are the requirements if you want to run Outriders in max Ultra 4K at 60fps:

  • CPU: Intel i7-10700k or Ryzen 7 3700x
  • RAM: 16GB
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 (10GB or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT
  • DirectX: 12
  • Storage: 70GB
