RESIDENTS on a brand new housing estate claim their homes SQUEAK and flood – forcing them to go through nightmare repairs.
Homeowners on the Morely Carr estate in Yarm, North Yorks., claim they have had a number of issues with the new properties, built by Taylor Wimpey, since moving in from 2020.

Nicky Davies, 34, said his home had an uneven floor, a garden which flooded and windows and doors fitted incorrectly.
He said he moved into the £375,000 house in August 2020 and has suffered “problem after problem” since, Teesside Live reports.
He told the publication: “Taylor Wimpey had to sort out my back garden which completely flooded.
“There were also squeaky floor boards. After paying what I did for the house I wouldn’t expect to have these issues.”
Meanwhile, Stephanie Wilkinson, 31, lives on the estate with her 32-year-old partner Matthew Stoves and their two daughters, one and two.
The mum moved onto the estate in September last year, thinking her girls would grow up in the “forever home”.
But she claims the ground floor was not level and although the company fixed it, the kitchen had to be pulled out and reinstalled.
Her family was forced to live in temporary accommodation for two weeks while repairs took place and Stephanie said when they returned home they had no water, no heating or cooking facilities.

She said: “It was just after Christmas so we unfortunately couldn’t have the family Christmas we planned, we had to organise the accommodation ourselves and five days soon turned into two-and-a-half weeks.
“Luckily Matthew is a plumber and heating engineer so he was able to fix the water and heating, but he shouldn’t have to as it should’ve already been done.”
Stephanie said they also have trouble closing their front and back doors, and claims flooding to land at the front of their property leaves puddles when it rains.
A spokesperson from Taylor Wimpey said: “We are aware of the issues that Mr Davies and Mrs Wilkinson have experienced with their homes and would like to apologise for the problems they have experienced.
We have been in regular contact with these customers to get the issues resolved, and remain committed to complete any outstanding issues as quickly as possible.”
