ALL property-hunters scouring London listings for their new dream home will know they’ll often be facing slim pickings.
But one home in the south west of the capital takes that expression a little too literally.
The £800,000 property in Kensington and Chelsea is certainly stunning, with a sweet fitted kitchen, posh rainfall shower and even its own terraced garden – a rarity in the city.
But those who have accumulated lots of belongings may want to skip a viewing.
That’s because the property extends just 13 feet back – making it one of the slimmest houses on the market.
From the side, the home looks so narrow it appears almost like a prop on a film set.
But inside the Tardis-style property, the space is far bigger than visitors might believe.
The lucky new owner will spot plenty of tricks to make the rooms look more generous.
The walls are a clean white, with pale wood floors and bay windows.
There are two double bedrooms, a big living room, a shower room and a toilet, as well as the little garden.
But the real draw is the location.
The home lies in Thurloe Square, directly opposite a stunning park and moments from South Kensington Tube station.
The V&A and Natural History Museum are just a few minutes’ walk away, while Hyde Park is just a short trip beyond that.
Meanwhile, properties in the square sell for an average of £4.4million – making the flat a bargain by comparison.
HOME’S LITTLE SURPRISE
London is known for being challenging to buyers on a budget.
But the situation improves dramatically for those with extra cash to splash.
One two-bed flat on the market for £800,000 hides an amazing secret – its own underground bunker.
The whopping space lies behind a blast-proof underground door.
And it’s kitted out with its own ventilation system – meaning the new owner could use it as a gym, home office or prep zone for a zombie apocalypse.
Elsewhere, a stunning £4million home yards from Notting Hill Gate Tube is completely invisible from the street.
TOP LOCATION
The ‘hidden home’ can be found behind a secret door.
Once inside, the new owner find a whopping five-bed home spread over 3,000 square feet.
On the other end of the scale, a flat available to rent in Islington for £900 a month hides a disgusting addition.
The property has high ceilings, an en suite bathroom and its own bed – features those with limited finances will know aren’t necessarily standard in the capital.
But on closer inspection, the flat appears to have one truly upsetting addition.
Photos taken inside the little bathroom seem to show a dead mouse on the floor.
