M&S shoppers are going wild over a ‘delicious’ new Easter cake that has just hit the shelves.
The retailer has launched a “super-sized hot cross bun cake” which has all the features of the traditional Easter treat – just with a twist.

The cake is new to the M&S Foodhall as part of its “Easter Edition” and it is going down a storm with sweet-toothed shoppers.
The new Easter treat has all of the traditional flavours that you would expect to find in an M&S hot cross bun – just in a cake.
As well as the retailer’s “top-secret, signature hot cross bun spice blend, the sponge cake includes plump sultanas and is finished off with a layer of cinnamon-flavoured buttercream.
The limited edition cake serves 10 people and is currently on the Ocado website for £8 rather than its usual retail price of £12.

This is the first hot cross bun cake that we have seen doing the rounds, however, Waitrose has a hot cross bunettone for £8.
The bunettone is an Easter take on the traditional panettone, which is an Italian type of sweet bread and fruitcake.
While there may not be direct competition for the new M&S cake, there are plenty of Easter goodies to choose from right now.
