Heinz has released new cheese and beans toasties in collaboration with Cathedral City in Iceland stores.

The toastie combines Heinz Baked Beanz and Cathedral City Cheese, sandwiched between two slices of hearty bread.

It comes as the latest addition to Iceland’s extremely popular Cathedral City range.

The news was shared in the Newfoodsuk group on Facebook racking up thousands of likes.

Others had other ideas with some users suggesting the snack could easily be made at home.

One user said: “Why would anyone be that lazy?”

“Just make it yourself,” said someone else.

“Quicker and cheaper to go in the kitchen and make one from scratch,” said another.

The cheese and beans toasties are due to launch in Iceland stores on April 8 officially, but they have already been spotted in stores.

The goodies will be priced at £3.50 when the launch though prices may vary from store to store.

You can use the store locator tool on its website to find your nearest store.

Commenting on the collaboration, Caio Fontenele, new ventures director at Heinz, said, “We know Brits absolutely love pairing beanz with cheese and so we’re thrilled to continue building our partnership with Cathedral City – bringing beanz lovers up and down the country the ultimate duo.”

Abi Armson, senior brand manager, Cathedral City at Saputo said “We are continuing to build on our exciting, perfect pairing partnership with Heinz through the launch of Our Cheese & Beanz Toastie! A winning combination in a quick and easy meal solution… yummy.”

The cheese and beans toastie joins an array of Heinz products which launched over the past few months.

Early this year Heinz launched the Heinz Beanz & Sausage Pizza in Iceland stores.

The brand apologised to its fans for discontinuing the popular Cream of Tomato Soup With A Kick of Chilli.

Last November Heinz launched a divisive new pickled flavoured ketchup.

This came a month after the branch launched a Heinz Tomato Ketchup Pasta Sauce.

In other news, three new spicy crisps flavours have been spotted on Iceland shelves and they’ve sent shoppers into a frenzy.

THERE are plenty of ways to save on your grocery shop.

You can look out for yellow or red stickers on products, which show when they’ve been reduced.

If the food is fresh, you’ll have to eat it quickly or freeze it for another time.

Making a list should also save you money, as you’ll be less likely to make any rash purchases when you get to the supermarket.

Going own brand can be one easy way to save hundreds of pounds a year on your food bills too.

This means ditching “finest” or “luxury” products and instead going for “own” or value” type of lines.

Plenty of supermarkets run wonky veg and fruit schemes where you can get cheap prices if they’re misshapen or imperfect.

For example, Lidl runs its Waste Not scheme, offering boxes of 5kg of fruit and vegetables for just £1.50.

If you’re on a low income and a parent, you may be able to get up to £442 a year in Healthy Start vouchers to use at the supermarket too.

Plus, many councils offer supermarket vouchers as part of the Household Support Fund.
