THE Nintendo Switch isn’t known for its beefy storage space, which is why many people choose to buy physical games.
With less than 64GB of storage in the Switch OLED, and less than 32GB on the other models, it can’t handle the huge modern games.
Luckily, many developers reduce the size of their games, so that they fit on all Nintendo Switch models.
Unfortunately, this can lead to some issues. A huge recent release has been an example of this problem.
Mortal Kombat 1 was a success on other platforms, but many claimed that the Switch version is virtually unplayable.
The visuals are a significant downgrade from the other versions, and other issues cause bugs and crashes on the console.

Developers have been working tirelessly since the release to bring the game up to scratch.
Their efforts have resulted in a patch that was released today, promising numerous fixes for Switch players.
However, players have been complaining about the size of the download that is using up all of their console’s storage.
Some have noted that the patch can be as large as 27.4GB, which is almost the size of the entire internal storage of the original Switch and Switch Lite models.

However, not all Switch players are encountering this issue. Some have experienced a much smaller install size.
Some believe that the large file is overwriting the entire game, while the smaller one is just installing the new patch.
Despite this the entire install size for Mortal Kombat 1 is still more than 36GB, which is a significant install size for the console.
There are external storage options for the Switch, but significant storage needs to be added for just this one game.
It seems that the patch has improved gameplay, so those who purchased Mortal Kombat 1 are at least getting their money’s worth.
