Nintendo Switch gamers rush to buy 90% off bundle and it’s perfect ‘if you love Fallout’ and John Wick

NINTENDO Switch players can get their hands on a game bundle for just £2.60, and fans say it’s perfect “if you love Fallout” and the John Wick franchise.

The two-strong bundle, originally worth £35.98, include adventure shooter titles The Hong Kong Massacre and Beautiful Desolation.

The PEGI 16 games are currently more than 90 per cent off in Nintendo’s eShop, available on the Switch console and online.

However, the offer only lasts until 14 April.

If you love Fallout and Die Antwoord is your blood type, Beautiful Desolation is a game for you.

Hong Kong Massacre

Hong Kong Massacre, released in 2019, is a self-described shooter game inspired by classic action movies.

With a revenge story in the background and cinematic shootouts in the fore, the title has snagged an approval rating of 71 per cent on reviews site Metacritic.

“This game rocks, like it really does,” one player wrote in a Metacritic review.

“Its style is fun, it makes me feel like John Wick. I don’t like how there is no story but I never really care about that too much.”

Critics at IGN described the game as “fiercely challenging, unashamedly violent, and relentlessly enjoyable”.

“The Hong Kong Massacre is an intense and spectacular shoot-’em-up with a stylish slow-motion hook,” they added.

“While some corners have been cut in terms of its presentation and boss fights, those issues are easy to overlook when the core gunplay is so fiercely challenging, unashamedly violent, and relentlessly enjoyable.”

Beautiful Desolation

Released a year later in 2020, Beautiful Desolation is a dialled back point and click adventure set in a post-apocalyptic future.

A review from Level magazine on MetaCritic called it a “beautiful isometric adventure game” with a well-built story and characters.

“If you love Fallout and Die Antwoord is your blood type, Beautiful Desolation is a game for you,” they continued.

While some reviews note that the first third of the game is somewhat “dull”, players are encouraged to persevere.

As Riot Pixels’ review put it: “If you manage to power through the dull first third of the game and let some of the design limitations slide, Beautiful Desolation will reward you with one of the best post-apocalyptic worlds ever created.”
