NATIONWIDE customers have found themselves suffering a SECOND day of payment chaos with Christmas now being a mere 72 hours away.

Despite the building society reassuring customers that the issues had been fixed, many find themselves still locked out of their payments today.

Customers couldn’t send or recieve money yesterday as a major outage meant they were locked out of payments.

Nationwide confirmed last night that services were back up and running after the outage occurred at 7am and ran throughout the day.

The building society has even promised to refund customers hit by the payment glitch charges, that left some without wages just days before the biggest holiday of the year.

Reports rocketed to over 800 on Downdetector by 8pm last night before quickly declining as things seemed to go back to normal.

But some customers are continuing to suffer from payment delays today with a number taking to Twitter to complain.

On DownDetector, which detects outages for banks and other websites, there are over 100 that have already complained about a second service failure.

We have approached Nationwide for confirmation if services have been wiped out once again, and we’ll update this story once we know more.

Some are experiencing delays to payments so it may just be taking longer than it normally would to send and receive money.

Though, some people are claiming their payments have bounced too.

The almost day-long hault of the building society’s services panicked Brits throughout yesterday, and many are concerned again today.

One said: “Nope online banking is still down. This is an absolute joke. I hope Nationwide will be compensating their customers. This is ridiculous!”

Another said: “They are down again but Nationwide are denying it.”

A third was stumped while out at the shops and said: “I’ve literally just come Christmas shopping and now can’t do any because my transfer from PayPal did not go through.”

“This isn’t good enough” she added.

One user simply addressed the building society saying: “Are you having a laugh? Where is my money?”

Users have revealed that the continuing issues have left them without cash before the big day on Saturday.

This week is typically the time when shoppers will be frantically buying last minute gifts, and households will be stocking up groceries at the supermarket in time for December 25, so prevailing problems will continue to upset many.
