NANDO’S has been forced to close a number of its branches after running out of food due to delivery delays.
The chain confirmed to The Sun that the closures were due to staffing problems at its suppliers’ factories.

Not enough food deliveries have been made to a number of its restaurants as a result, resulting in stock issues.
To tackle the shortages, Nando’s said it will be lending 70 members of staff to suppliers’ factories to “get things moving again”.
A spokesperson said: “We expect to see this having a positive impact on the affected restaurants very soon, so please bear with us whilst we do everything we can to get our famous PERi-PERi chicken back where it belongs – on your plates!”
It comes as Britain has a shortage of 100,000 lorry drivers, exacerbated by the test and trace pingdemic which has left companies plagued with staffing issues.
Nando’s said that deliveries for the “small number” of restaurants that are still closed should arrive today or tomorrow so that branches can reopen as soon as possible.
The Sun spotted a number of customers complaining on Twitter about at least 10 restaurants which had closed.
Some also complained that a number of items weren’t on the menu because of the shortages.
One furious fan complained four branches near him were not taking orders yesterday when he looked online.
He added that Bluewater staff said the branch was closing when he physically turned up to order his meal
“Another week, another unsuccessful trip to use our vouchers,” he said.
One customer said she had been looking forward to a sunset burger “ALL day” only to be turned away from her local Nando’s.
“Baffled, hungry and hormonal,” she said.
Another customer said his local Nando’s in Exeter was shut, while another tweeted her four year-old was “disappointed” because two branches were shut, with another only available for takeaway.
While another said she had to eat elsewhere as two of her local branches had taken options off the menu.
She claimed: “Literally half of the menu was not available.”
Nando’s isn’t the only restaurant having stocking issues recently.
KFC ran out of food last week and warned some menu items are unavailable due to food shortages.
The chain did not say which menu items were affected, or how long the disruption is expected to last.
Some customers have taken to social media to complain that mini fillets, gravy, BBQ and sweet chilli bites and rice boxes are out of stock.
While Brits have been warned of a beer and crisps shortage that could happen over the August bank holiday due to a lack of delivery drivers and strike action.
Around 1,000 draymen, responsible for 40 per cent of deliveries to pubs, will walk out.
