Jonathan Wall, UK General Manager at SimpliSafe said: “There is no avoiding the fact that with the current cost of living crisis, some people may be struggling and if we look back to the last economic crisis, we are likely to see a spike in crime across the country.
“These statistics have been a real eye-opener and shed light on the devastating impact break ins can have on us. No one should be made to feel like they have to leave the area they live in to avoid crime.
“We hope that highlighting patterns when it comes to break ins in the UK will help the nation stay safe and aware of how criminals could operate. Installing a smart home security system is a highly effective way to help deter thieves and outdoor cameras can help the police with enquiries – It is also important for communities to work together to keep ourselves safe and secure.”
