A MORRISONS shopper has shared a genius way to bag a free Cadbury Creme Egg or hot cross buns this Easter.

With Easter just days away, many money-savers are already stocking up favourite sweet treats.

Luckily, a canny customer with an eye for a bargain has shared how to get a Cadbury Creme Egg and a bag of hot buns without spending a penny.

Posting on the popular Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, the bargain hunter revealed hot to bag them.

The savvy shopper said: “Loving the Morrison’s Easter game on the app.

“So far I’ve had a free cream egg, bonus points, money off flowers and a free pack of hot cross buns!”

The user was able to take home the delicious treats thanks to Morrison’s new ‘Easter Eggstravaganza’ game on its app.

The supermarket giant is offering free items ready for Easter and points.

The post has now gathered hundreds of likes from fellow bargain hunters.

One said: “O wow thank you I didn’t know about this and won hot cross buns today.”

Another user, who was also able to bag free items, said: “I had the free Creme egg, 400 points, £1 off flowers and plants and a pack of 4 Hot Cross Buns. 300 points today.”

Another added: “Awww I’ve missed the first 3 days. But today I won a pack of hot cross buns.”

But other customers who weren’t so lucky claimed they couldn’t land any freebies.

One said: “How do you find this there’s nothing on my app?”

You should note the app is available for selected customers.

A Morrisons spokesperson said: “Our ‘Easter Eggstravaganza’ is available on the More Card app to surprise and delight customers for shopping with us at Easter.

“Every day in the lead up to Easter, from 23th-30th March, chosen More card customers can look forward to a daily reward, including free Easter treats, More Points when you next shop, money off Easter favourites and the chance to become a Morrisons More Points Millionaire.

“Both creme eggs and hot cross buns are included.
600,000 More Card users have been chosen to take part, each receiving a daily reward.”

With the loyalty scheme shoppers can receive digital coupons that can be used for instant savings in stores. 

Morrisons‘ More gives customers five points per £1 spent in store. When customers earn 5,000 points they receive a £5 voucher.

Shoppers can swipe the My Morrisons app or a physical card at the checkout and the savings will be taken from the total automatically.

You can find your nearest Morrisons by using their store locator tool.

Offers can be viewed in the My Morrisons app – which can be downloaded from the App Store for people with Apple iPhones or from the Google Play store for Android users -or on the website.

Morrisons also slashed the price of a number of its larger Cadbury Easter eggs to £3.50.

Shoppers can pick up everything from a Cadbury Wispa Gold Egg, Twirl Special Gesture egg and a Creme Egg box set as well.

If Cadbury chocolate doesn’t take your fancy, the retailer is also selling a Smarties Giant Dinosaur egg and larger Kinder egg for £3.50.

You’ll need to be a Morrisons loyalty card member to get the eggs for £3.50, otherwise they’re £5.

  • You should first download the More Card app on from the App Store for people with Apple iPhones or from the Google Play store for Android users.
  • Shoppers can then check out the app every day to snap up rewards and loyalty points.
  • You can get free Easter treats on your next shop, money off Easter favourites and the chance to become a Morrisons More Points Millionaire.
