MORE Brits work from home than in any other country bar Canada, analysis shows.
UK employees average one-and-a-half days a week, outstripping Germans who do one day from home, Italians on 0.7 and the French on 0.6.
Workers in Canada spent 1.7 days a week at home.
Brits ideally want to stay away even more — 2.3 days on average, the study reveals.
That is below the 1.7 days firms say they have planned for them to work from home.
Two in three staff say avoiding the commute is the biggest benefit, followed by fuel and lunch savings.
Almost three in four said socialising was the office’s main draw, followed by collaborating and having a work-home distinction.
Mathias Dolls, of the ifo Center for Macroeconomics and Surveys, said of its research: “Employees really value the option to work from home.
“However, there’s a gap between the number of days employees would like to work from home and the number their employers are planning.”
Many firms have rowed back on remote working.
