Some romantics placed their order at the start of February to beat the last minute rush but were sill without by February 14.

One disappointed Thortful customer complained: “Card hasn’t arrives after ordering in time and paying the delivery charge.

“I now have to make a card by stealth using the kids crayons… Great… Not overly happy right now.”

And another said: “Haven’t received the Valentines card I order on Tuesday! Thanks Thortful! Anything but Thortful now!!

Meanwhile some Moonpig customers also missed out on giving a card to their loved one.

One customer said: “Thanks for not getting my Valentine Card to my wife. Ordered 5th February. First time user and now last time user. Poor service”

Another tweeted: “First time ordering from Moonpig and deffo the last!

“I ordered my boyfriends card on the 9th and still not here. My boyfriend also ordered mine and that’s not here either. Very disappointed.”

The coronavirus pandemic continues to cause delays to Royal Mail postal deliveries in some areas.

More than two million Brits didn’t get a letter last month, according to Citizen’s Advice.

Moonpig has been urging customers to order as early as possible in the run up to Valentine’s Day and it’s understood there are a small number of delays.

A spokesperson for Moonpig told The Sun: “We take pride in delighting our customers and go to great lengths to provide an exceptional service to them.

“We notify customers when an order has been dispatched and work closely with our courier partners to ensure we are communicating delivery times in line with service levels.

“While the issues only affect a small number of the overall volume of orders, we take every single complaint seriously and work as quickly as possible to put things right.

“We are engaging directly with these customers, we know that these orders and the loved ones they are destined for are extremely important.”

Thortful has been contacted for comment and we’ll update this story when we hear back.
