MILLIONS of telly viewers with Hisense boxes will finally be able to access the Now TV app, as part of a long overdue upgrade.

The Now TV app, alongside other streaming services, was previously only available through the Hisense Roku TV boxes.

However, a new update means users will be able to easily access Now’s TV series, films and sports content.

Viewers will still need a Now TV membership to access it.

The update is currently available to all of Hisense’s 2022 and current 2023 ranges – including the newest Mini LED series, the U7K.

To download it, simply head into your TV’s Settings > Device Preferences > About > System Update > install latest update.

In a statement, Arun Bhatoye, head of marketing at Hisense UK, said: “This seamless collaboration signifies our commitment to offering an expansive range of entertainment choices to our customers.

“Now’s diverse content lineup aligns perfectly with our goal to enhance the viewing experience for all, and comes at a perfect time for viewers to enjoy all of this over the festive period.”

And complaints about Hisense’s lack of streaming app options stretch back all the way to 2019.

While there is still no way to access the Apple TV or ITVX apps on the Hisense range – excluding the Hisense Roku boxes – it is a step in the right direction for viewers.

In May, a new customer wrote on X: “@HisenseUK We’ve just bought a Hisense Vidaa TV and now learn that we can’t use Now TV app.

“Is this going to be addressed soon, or should we return the TV and buy something else?”

In 2022, another tweeted: “Word of advice – don’t buy a Hisense TV they’re s*** my *smart* one does not even recognise Apple TV, Now TV or even new ITV app.”
