MILLIONS of TV owners will be able to watch Channel 4 shows on-demand once again after it disappeared five years ago.
The popular platform – previously known as All4 – was removed from Freesat boxes in 2018.
But now Freesat 4K TV boxes can finally access the service once again as the app relaunches.
Channel 4 dramatically pulled then-All 4 and its HD channel from Freesat in a dispute over fees.
The HD channel later returned but it’s only now the broadcaster’s streaming service has come back.
It joins the other main apps, BBC iPlayer, ITVX, My5, UKTV Play, and BBC Sounds.

As a result, telly lovers will be able to watch more than 16,000 hours of content.
This includes favourites like Gogglebox, The Inbetweeners, Married at First Sight and The Great British Bake Off.
Emily Doyle, Content Partnership Manager at Freesat, said: “We are constantly striving to bring our customers the very best content and being able to relaunch the Channel 4 app is a significant milestone in that mission.
“This marks the final piece in the puzzle of re-introducing the full Channel 4 offering to Freesat, after relaunching Channel 4 HD and its
suite of music channels over the last two years.”

Karla Berry, Distribution and Platform Partnerships Leader at Channel 4, added: “Ensuring Channel 4 content is available to audiences where they want it, when they want it is absolutely crucial, so we’re delighted to see the Channel 4 app on Freesat’s 4K TV Box.
“Viewers will be able to enjoy thousands of hours of brilliant content including The Great British Bake Off, Married At First Sight and a wealth of documentaries, dramas and fantastic movies.”
However, anyone with an older non-4K Freesat receiver are no longer directly supported so will either have to upgrade or find another way to access Channel 4 online.
If you have an older box, see if you can access Channel 4 online via the smart TV app instead or get a Fire TV Stick.
