All you need to do is join the Apple Beta Software Program.
The lets you test-drive upcoming versions of iOS – that’s the software your iPhone runs on.
These “beta” versions typically include new features that aren’t yet available to on the general release version of iOS.
And it’s easy to join or quit at any time.
“Help make the next releases of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS and HomePod software our best yet,” Apple explains.
“As a member of the Apple Beta Software Program, you can take part in shaping Apple software by test-driving pre-release versions and letting us know what you think.”
All you need to do is unroll your device and then you’ll be able to access the beta updates.
But before you get started, there are a few things to bear in mind.

The point of a beta test is to uncover issues that can then be fixed before a general release.
So it’s good if you use Apple’s feedback app to let the iPhone maker know how you’re getting on.
But bear in mind that you might also find some bugs that can be very annoying – so consider whether you really want to use an iOS beta on your main device.
All you need to sign up is a valid Apple ID.
There’s no sign-up fee, but you won’t receive compensation for testing either.
How to join iPhone iOS beta
To sign up, here’s what you need to do:
- 1. Go to the Apple Beta page and then tap Sign Up
- 2. Sign into your Apple ID
- 3. Choose iOS
- 4. Tap on Enroll Your iOS Device
- 5. Select Download Profile, then Allow
- 6. Go into your iPhone Settings app and tap Profile Downloaded
- 7. Now tap Install, enter your passcode, then hit Install two more times
- 8. Restart your iPhone, then go to Settings > General > Software Update
- 9. Now download the iOS beta software update if one is available
Remember that you can leave the beta at any time.
But joining is a great way to get ahead of the game when it comes to the latest iPhone hacks.
