Customers will have to spend £8 to redeem the discount but can also earn freebies if they use the app’s offers.

One Rewards point is gained on the app for every penny spent.

Any customer who spends £8 before the discount would 680 points when once it is applied.

On the app, 1500 points can earn customers small fries, a hash brown, a regular soft drink or a side salad.

A double cheeseburger, vegetable deluxe or apple pie would be free in exchange for 2500 points.

For those with 5500 points, a Mighty McMuffin, a McSpicy, a Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese or a McCrispy can be earned.

The sale comes just hours after McDonald’s left Fanta and Oasis fans furious after switching to sugar-free versions of the drinks.

But last week fans of the fast-food chain described a menu change featuring six all-new items as “the best yet”.
