The fast food chain has introduced tamper-proof packaging

Fans of the chain will be used to receiving their food in brown paper bag held together by a McDonald’s sticker.

But now deliveries will be protected by a seal that you’ll need to tear in order to get to your grub.

It means customers will know that their food is fresh and that it hasn’t been interfered with between leaving the restaurant and arriving at their home.

The packaging came into effect in March and is being used at all McDonald’s restaurants nationwide.

So if you order Maccies through any of its delivery partners – Deliveroo, UberEats and Just Eat – you may notice the new packaging.

McDonald’s first introduced its delivery service in 2017.

You can get McDonald’s delivered using Deliveroo, Just Eat or Uber Eats, or by placing an order through the My McDonald’s app.

Delivery is available in most UK towns and cities, although you’ll have to live near enough a Maccies branch.

At the moment, Maccies fans can tuck into a Spicy Big Tasty, halloumi fries and Wispa McFlurry.

To check whether you can get a Big Mac direct to your door, you can use the McDonald’s online delivery locator.

How much does McDonald’s delivery cost?

Deliveroo, Uber Eats, Just Eat and My McDonald’s are all free to download through the App Store or Google Play.

However, you will have to pay a delivery fee, which will vary depending on your location, which service you use and whether there is a special offer on.

It’s worth checking all the options before you order, as the fees can vary and sometimes are as high as £3.99.

You might also have to pay hefty service fees too.

It’s also worth factoring in special offers.

For example, on Mondays, you can often get burger deals through the My McDonald’s app which can offset the higher cost of delivery.

What can I order?

Most of McDonald’s menu is available for delivery, meaning you can get all the classics such as Chicken McNuggets and Happy Meals.

Some items, like ice cream cones and drinks with cream on the top, can’t be delivered as they wouldn’t last the journey.

McDonald’s serves breakfast until 11am every day, which is when you can get your hands on a McMuffin or hash browns.

After that, it switches to its standard burger menu until closing time.
