MCDONALD’S fans can make their birthday extra special by bagging themselves freebies and discounts if they sign up to the app.

The chain has been running birthday offers since it launched its app in 2017 but over the weekend it sent out a reminder to those who haven’t yet filled out their details yet.

McDonald’s has told The Sun that birthday offers are in line with the McDonald’s Mondays offers, discounts and deals.

The chain said you could get a free coffee too if it was your birthday.

Hotdealsuk, which posted about the deal yesterday, said you’ll be able to get a Big Mac, Quarter Pounder with cheese, Chicken Legend, McChicken Sandwich or Filet-O-Fish for 99p if your birthday is this month.

However, to get the deal, you have to order it through the McDonald’s app.

But how do you make sure you’re not missing out on the treats? We explain all you need to know.

How do I sign up for birthday offers?

To get birthday offers, you’ll need to sign up for the My McDonald’s app first.

You can download it for free to both iOS and Android devices.

When registering for the app, you’ll need fill out the month your birthday falls on, which Maccies can then use to send you birthday offers.

If you’ve already got the McDonalds app but not sure if you have filled out your birthday details, you may have received an email from the chain.

McDonalds has been emailing some customers with a link which takes them to an online form where they can fill out their birth month and birth year.

You’ll be able to collect your birthday deals in the deals section of the app when it’s your special day.

If it’s not your birthday, there’s still plenty of deals you can make the most of.

The chain is offering customers a Grand Big Mac for £1.99 today, and you can also get a free hot drink if you buy a bacon roll.

When can I get my birthday treat?

According to hotdealsuk, your birthday treat offer will expire after a month.

You’ll be able to order it through the McDonalds app and pick it up from your local branch.

McDonald’s is still open through lockdown, but you can only get your treat to take away – you can’t sit in and eat it.

This is because restaurants and pubs have had to temporarily close during the third lockdown.

McDonald’s revealed that it would stop being walk-in takeaways at the start of lockdown, but it started to bring this service back at some locations this week.

The fast food chain said a walk-in service will be available again in all its branches in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland from Monday February 22 onwards.

But before you make a trip, it’s best to check to see if your local restaurant is open by using the chain’s restaurant locator.

In a separate offer, McDonald’s was doing six McNuggets for 99p for Mother’s Day.

The McDonald’s menu will change to make room for new products later this month, leaving some fans “raging”.

We explain seven rules for McDonald’s walk-in takeaway, including a ban on couples and longer queues.
