MANY shops, restaurants and retailers will be shut over Christmas and New Year, including some McDonald’s branches.

This year brings us two Bank Holidays as Christmas Day and New Years Day both fall on a Sunday.

This means that there’s an extra Bank Holiday on Tuesday December 27 and also on Monday January 2.

As a result, shops and restaurants may alter their opening hours to fit in with the extra holiday days.

McDonald’s opening times over the festive period will vary depending on the store and each branch will have it’s own opening hours.

It’s best to head to the McDonald’s website, search for the branch locator and find your local restaurant’s opening times.

For example, the Clapham Junction branch will be closed on Christmas Day and then open from 7am until 1am on Boxing Day.

On December 27, it’ll be open from 6am until 1am and then 6am until 3am on New Years’ Eve.

However, the McDonald’s store in Star City, Birmingham will be shut on Christmas Day and then it’ll open from 11am until midnight on Boxing Day.

It’ll open from midday until 8pm on New Year’s Eve and then 8am until midnight New Years’ Day.

Almost all stores across the UK are shut on Christmas Day, but there are also a handful of retailers that won’t open on Boxing Day either.

Most of us will slowly return to usual working hours over the following week, and so will UK shops and supermarkets.
