SHOPPERS won’t be able to get their hands on a Celebrations advent calendar this year.
Mars, the company which makes the sweets, told The Sun that it is not doing the chocolate countdown this Christmas.
Celebrations is one of the most popular advent calendars each year – but often causes controversy among fans of the chocs.
Shoppers were overjoyed last year to find the first flavour behind the door on December 1 was NOT a Bounty.
In 2019 fans were up in arms because they’ve discovered Bounty bars behind the first TWO doors of their chocolate advent calendars.
It was the second year in a row Bounty was behind the December 1 door.
But that won’t be an issue this year, as the advent calendar will be missing from shelves.
We’ve asked the confectioner why it’s scrapped the sweet treat for Christmas 2021 and will update when we hear back.
Mars also makes Maltesers and Galaxy advent calendars and both of these are available this year.
Choc fans can still get hold of Celebrations sweets, with Christmas tubs and smaller cartons widely available.
Celebrations contain mini versions of Mars’ full-size faves, including Maltesers, Galaxy, Snickers, Twix, and the controversial Bounty.
Anyone lost without the popular advent calendar this Christmas could consider making their own, by purchasing the chocs separately and popping them in a make-your-own countdown.
Other chocolate advent calendars are already on sale at many supermarkets and shops, including Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Wilko.
Meanwhile Greggs fans say Christmas has been “ruined” after its festive bake was delayed.
Brits have started shopping early for festive food over fears of shortages of Christmas dinner essentials.
Parents have been warned that children could be left disappointed this year as the must-have toys sell out.
One of the top toys for this Christmas, the CoComelon JJ Interactive doll, is already sold out across major retailers.
The doll has been listed on eBay for double its retail price.
Sainsbury’s has had to delay it’s annual toy sale which parents shop for bargain Christmas gifts.
