CHOCOLATE giant Mars has gone into competition with McVities by launching its own digestive biscuits.
The digestives will come in two flavours – milk chocolate and orange.
They will both feature a coating of Galaxy’s original chocolate, similar to how McVities’ chocolate digestives look.
The new biscuits will roll out at Asda stores on December 29 and will cost £1.89 per 300g.
And then from March next year, both flavours will be available across multiple grocery stores and online.
In comparison, McVities chocolate digestives cost £1.25 for a 266g pack at Asda – although this is a sale price.
They usually cost £1.69 online – of course, prices will vary daily in store and online.
Many fans are elated with the news and a Facebook post on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK has more than 3,000 comments.
The majority of shoppers tagged friends or family members with one writing: “We have to get some of these.”
Another wrote “I need to try these.”

One person said: “Ooft, they sound naughty and not for sharing.”
However, one shopper wasn’t so pleased with the news.
They said: “Chocolate orange digestives? Even the thought gives me the boke.”
And another said: “Nothing beats Hobknobs.”
The chocolate giant has already caused controversy this Christmas after removing Bountys from its Celebrations tubs.
It was part of a trial to see if shoppers want to get rid of the divisive Bountys from tubs permanently.
However, it did hint that it could make a return in this year’s festive advert.
It followed Mr Bounty who is left alone in the woods after being dumped from the tub.
He’s found by an elderly woman who takes him in and cares for him but before too long he gains the confidence to go home after a public appeal for him to return.
The advert ends with him back with his fellow Celebrations friends like Mars, Snickers and Galaxy.
