MARKS & Spencer has been slammed for its Jubilee sandwich with shoppers saying it was “a farce”.
The ham and egg concoction has been created for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee marking 70 years on the throne, with celebrations kicking off today.

But royal fans said it looks like a whole boiled egg has just been plonked in between the slices of bread.
One – called Gilly – couldn’t work out what made the sandwich special to Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.
She fumed: “Let’s slam a hard-boiled egg in a sandwich.
“’Yes. A whole hard-boiled egg!’ said the M&S sandwich maker who was p****d as a fart.”
Bally Singh called it “a farce”.
Jeremy Lune asked: “Is it 70 years out of date?”
Flora Mountford joked: “I think The Queen made them.”
Others weighed in that the sandwich was a ‘Jubilee’ one because it had bunting on the packaging.

Not everyone though was negative about the foodie offering.
Many commentators on Instagram showed their appreciation.
One simply wrote: “Tuck in.”
Another added: “The eggy dream.”
A third posted: “M&S have done well… our fav.”
The sandwich contains smoked British dry-cured ham with egg mayonnaise and a whole soft poached egg.
It is only available to purchase in store but for an eye-watering price of £4.25 and should be available for around eight weeks.
The Sun Online has contacted M&S for comment.
In honour of Her Majesty’s seven decades on the throne, M&S has also released Caramel Corgi Mousse Cakes and a giant honey roast ham sausage roll – which says ‘HRH’ on top.
The M&S sandwich platter containing 30 pieces, priced at £20, has gone down a storm with royal and foodie fans.
Posting a pic of the tasty looking selection on Instagram, it has picked up more than 2,800 likes in just three days.
One poster wrote: “PLEASE BRING THESE BACK!!!!!!! Not just for the jubilee…. No one does a sandwich platter like M&S,” which got the reply: “I agree!!”
Another said: “M&S do the best sandwiches.”
While a third simply added: “Ooh lovely.”
