THE EASTER holiday hasn’t even come and gone yet one major supermarket has already slashed prices on themed decorations and toys.

Bargain hunters on Facebook page, Money Saver By Dansway, revealed how Sainsbury’s has discounted shelves upon shelves of Easter goodies.

The products had been bunged into the clearance section, marked up with red stickers that show their slashed prices.

Normally clearance goods are the old bits from last years’ stock, or out of season products that the store needs to sell to make way for new goodies.

So you might typically expect to see the sale items AFTER this weekend.

But the early sale means parents could pick up bargain treats, that aren’t chocolate, for little ones from the array of cuddly toys and craft kits that Sainsbury’s has on offer.

And if you’re planning a get together this bank holiday, the decorations on sale could be the perfect way to kit out your house for less.

A small rabbit plush toy on offer in the spring clearance for just £3.50 was originally £5, saving shoppers £1.50 on the full price.

Meanwhile a wicker rabbit decoration that was £16 had been reduced to £11, slashing a fiver off the cost.

There’s even a carrot piñata which was £8, but now only £5.50 to buy – saving shoppers a smashing £2.50.

Plus plenty of board games have been discounted too – like one Easter take on classic Twister, with a pound off the price, and an Easter themed escape room game that was £6, reduced to £4 now.

And you can get a 12 pack of yellow chicks with 50p knocked off the price – the fluffy novelty miniatures perfect for hiding around the house for an Easter hunt were £2.50 before being reduced to £1.50.

On the bargain hunting forum, shoppers noted that the discounts had been spotted in Sainsbury’s Westwood, Broadstairs.

That means it’s not guaranteed all branches have the same offers up for grabs – particularly as they are all clearance items.

That means they’ll be subject to availability and not likely to return to shelves once they do sell out too.

We’ve asked Sainsbury’s to clarify how widespread the deals are and will update this story once we know more.

But you can’t get the clearance goodies online.

That means you will have to head into a store if you stand any chance of swiping your own bargains.

Use Sainsbury’s locator tool to find your closest – but it might be worth a call ahead if you don’t want to be met with disappointment chancing a visit to the shops.

Keep in mind you’ll only save if you were planning on buying anyway – you shouldn’t splash out on the products just because they’ve been marked down in price, or you could go over budget.

And if you are in the market for some last minute Easter decs, have a shop around as well, as you might even find cheaper goodies on offer from rivals.

Don’t leave it too long to snag the deals from Sainsbury’s though, as the store is closed on Easter Sunday along with plenty of other supermarkets.
