CUSTOMERS ‘can’t believe’ it after a major coffee chain announced the closure of a shop at a key location.
Costa Coffee is one of the UK’s favourite chains, with 2,467 branches dotted across the country.
The popular chain has now confirmed that it has closed its restaurant at Gatwick Airport South Terminal. Millions of passengers travel through the terminal each year.
A member of staff posted a message on social media which read:”After 7 years in Costa , we are closing down Costa South Arrivals permanently.
“I will miss Costa South Arrivals, I’m so grateful that I met so many colleagues, some of them friends that I made for life.
“I’m just grateful for all the memories we created together, and this amazing moments. The end of an era.”
In response to the news a customer said: “I cant believe it.”
Another said: “Good luck on the new chapter, guys.”
A Costa Coffee Spokesperson: “We can confirm that our Costa Coffee store in London Gatwick Airport Arrivals (South Terminal) has closed its doors for trade. All team members have been redeployed to nearby stores.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Customers travelling can continue to enjoy their favourite Costa coffee at our stores in London Gatwick Airport (North Terminal), or to find your nearest store, click here:“
Costa recently confirmed the closure of a store in Newport, Wales. The Commercial Street branch have confirmed that “all team members have been redeployed to their nearby stores”.
