A MAJOR cinema is closing several of its branches from today and film fans will be disappointed.
Cinema giant Odeon is shutting the doors of five of its branch forever.
The company made its decision following “a thorough assessment of all available options”.
It will close the cinemas today (Monday, June 5).

The branch in Magdalen Street, Oxfordshire, is closing just seven months before its 100th anniversary.
When the news was first announced, a spokesperson for Odeon said: “We can confirm that, following a thorough assessment of all available options we have made the very difficult decision to close a small number of our cinemas.
“We know this will be disappointing news for our guests and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
“We would like to thank them for their choosing Odeon to enjoy the magic of cinema.

Odeon isn’t the only brand to shut the doors on some of its branches.
A raft of closures have been hitting UK high streets recently.
A huge 69 bank branches will be shutting in June, disappearing from the high street forever.
It comes as more people are moving to online to do their banking.
On top of that, M&Co is shutting all of its 170 stores, in another blow for shoppers.
It comes after the business fell into administration in 2022 and announced all of its 170 stores will be closing.
Administrators at Teneo put the company up for sale with an auction deadline for interested buyers.
Meanwhile, Boots pharmacy has closed three stores already this year and B&Q has pulled down the shutters on eight “mini-shops” inside Asda supermarkets.
Fashion retailer H&M has closed three branches while M&S has shut down some of its stores, but it does plan to open new branches too.
