National Lottery players were urged to check their tickets to see if they have won the unclaimed prizes.

The winning numbers were 05, 16, 24, 34, 44 and 57. The bonus number was 20.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at the National Lottery, hailed the multimillion-pound jackpot win as “amazing news”.

It comes after a player won £8.5million in Wednesday’s draw. Another player claimed an £8.6million win earlier this month.

This Wednesday’s jackpot is set to be £2million.

Seventy ticket-holders bagged £1,750 for matching five of the six main numbers without the bonus ball last night.

Six players won £13,000 each for matching four of the five winning Lotto HotPicks numbers, which are the same as for the Lotto draw, but nobody got the five required to scoop the £350,000 top prize.

Nobody picked the winning Thunderball combination – 02, 21, 25, 34 and 37 plus the Thunderball number, which was 01 – meaning the £500,000 prize went unclaimed.

The Sun told how Joe, 49, and Jess, 44, celebrated the life-changing win with a £14.95 steak and chips meal at Miller and Carter.
