LOTTO players have been urged to check their tickets as a lucky winner has scooped the £12.8million jackpot.

Lottery chiefs revealed a mystery Brit is sitting on a fortune following Wednesday’s draw.

The winning numbers were 04, 18, 40, 41, 44, 46 and the bonus number was 54.

But the grand prize of £12,803,486 has yet to be claimed – seeing Camelot call on punters to double-check their tickets.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at The National Lottery, said: “What amazing news, one ticket-holder has won tonight’s massive £12.8M Lotto ‘Must Be Won’ jackpot! 

“Players are urged to check their tickets and to give us a call to claim this amazing jackpot prize.”

Two players managed to match five numbers and the bonus ball, earning them both £1,000,000.

As well as this, 56 Brits also bagged £1,750 after matching five numbers while 4,341 ticket-holders matched four numbers to each win £140.

Saturday’s Lotto jackpot is estimated to be a whopping £3.8million.

The first National Lottery draw was held on November 19 1994 when seven winners shared a jackpot of £5,874,778.

The odds of winning the lottery are estimated to be about one in 14million – BUT you’ve got to be in it to win it.
