But that’s probably because other household items couldn’t fit – the bed is just inches from the makeshift kitchen.

The tiny apartment is in Langtry Walk and comes with a single bed, table and chair.

The kitchen features a small sink, mini fridge, hob and microwave and sits at the foot of the bed.

But it sits so close that renters will have to squeeze past to get to the ensuite.

The wee room does have a single wardrobe, but is too small to fit a sofa – or drawers or bedside tables.

It has no oven or freezer, and instead of a curtain the window is covered by a thin piece of cloth.

But, the tenant will have access to a washing machine.

An estate agent at Berns & Co, West Hampstead, said: “It’s a standard studio flat, there’s nothing more to say.”

Renters could actually be getting a bargain with the £862-a-month flat in the sought after London area, as the average rent for a one bedroom flat in Swiss Cottage is £1,757 per month.

But while that may be the case, and the studio apartment may come with the luxury of having your own home, it is more expensive than a three-bedroom in Northumberland, Northern England.

A property, in Seaton Delaval, boasts a living room, dining room, kitchen, conservatory and huge garden for the bargain price of £765 per month.

A number of less spacious London properties have been hitting the market lately.

Another studio apartment with its bed just inches from the kitchen was advertised recently, but it was in Westway – with a monthly cost of £1000.

Plus, one is Earl’s Court, Kensington, is up for rent for £1,365 a month but the flat is so small that the shower is almost on top of the toilet.
