Iconic: Lloyd’s of London’s ‘inside out’ HQ at One Lime Street
Lloyd’s of London has struck a deal with its landlord to stay at its headquarters until at least 2035, dispelling fears the drift to working from home had put the building’s future in doubt.
The striking ‘inside out’ HQ at One Lime Street, designed by architect Richard Rogers, has been home to the world’s largest insurance market since 1986. A grade I listed building, with lifts and pipes running down the outside, it has been owned by Chinese insurance giant Ping An since 2013.
Other financial institutions have cut back on space amid the rise of hybrid working, most notably with HSBC moving out of its Canary Wharf HQ to smaller site in the City.
