The Singer Is An Accomplished Flute Player
She was involved in the school’s music program as a young girl. She was a piccolo player in the school marching band before deciding to switch to the flute. Throughout her time at the University of Houston, beginning in the eighth grade, she continued to play in the marching band.
“I played the piccolo. Because I had enormous lungs, I was the baddest Flautist in the country. And I truly wanted it,” she said in 2019, according to NPR. “I simply started listening to James Galway and tunes on the radio, really wanting to sound nice and be the greatest,” the flute player said.
In 2019, she revealed to The Gentlewoman that she has seen other band members gradually fade away. “I was usually seated first. I gave it my all. The females I played with frequently dropped out. Only a small number of them, including me, remained until our final year of high school, she added.
Her flute gradually became her closest companion, earning the moniker Sasha Flute after Beyoncé, another well-known Houston resident. The flute, which she carried around with her everywhere she went, has a particular place in her heart because her late father gave it to her when she was just 10 years old.
Lizzo Playing Crystal Flute Owned By James Madison’s At Her Concert
Lizzo Playing Crystal Flute, She started her Special tour in September 2022 to promote her #1 album of the same name. Lizzo visited the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., as part of a tour stop, and there she was shown a unique artifact: a bespoke crystal that had been donated to President James Madison more than 200 years before.
“Y’all… I performed on stage in Washington, D.C., using a 200-year-old crystal flute from the Library of Congress, she said on Twitter. “This well-known crystal flute has never been heard before. You have it now. Thank you. I am the first and only person to ever play this 200-year-old presidential crystal flute.
For President James Madison in 1813, a French clockmaker and artisan created a crystal flute. The flute was a present at Madison’s second inauguration.
Carol Lynn Ward-Bamford, the curator of the Library of Congress, handed the flute to Lizzo, who hesitantly took it on stage and started twerking while playing the precious instrument. She joked, “It’s like playing out of a wine glass,” to the crowd.
The singer of “Special” expressed her joy on Instagram. She said, “I’m the first and only one to play this crystal flute. As a flute player, I will never get over the fact that it is actually an inheritance.
She Uses Her Flute In Other Performances
It’s nothing new for Lizzo to use her skills with the flute in her performances.
She has in the past added flute trills to her big songs, such “Truth Hurts,” when performing live.
