After her disappearance became a homicide investigation, she was discovered dismembered and dumped in a dumpster outside her Macon, Ga. apartment.
What Happened to Lauren is an Investigation Discovery documentary that details the shocking murder and subsequent investigation that resulted in the arrest and conviction of the assassin who committed this heinous act.
Lauren’s university friends, on the other hand, were well aware that something was wrong. The cops were called, but when they arrived, they discovered her apartment was unlocked. Lauren’s sister Kaitlyn even enlisted the help of a friend to gain access to her apartment using a skeleton key.
Lauren’s purse, keys, wallet, and school identification card were discovered.
Where Is Stephen McDaniel Now?
Stephen McDaniel’s confession was accompanied by claims that he was a victim of police coercion and unfair interrogation tactics.
Er claimed he was denied medical attention due to the officers’ alleged verbal abuse and insults.
Despite this, Stephen McDaniel was sentenced to life in prison in 2014 based on his confession. McDaniel may be eligible for release in 30 years.
In 2018, he filed an appeal, claiming that the police violated his constitutional rights while investigating him.
He claimed that his apartment was improperly searched and that he was not promptly informed of his rights. His appeal was ultimately denied.
Stephen McDaniel is currently serving his sentence at Georgia’s Hancock State Prison.
