A FORTNITE leak has suggested Tomb Raider heroine Lara Croft could be coming to the game.

An infamous ‘dataminer’ of the video game franchise claims to have uncovered information regarding a new female Fortnite skin for the battle royale game.

Fortnite leaker and data miner Mang0e tweeted about their discovery.

They posted pictures of coding which suggested the new skin would be female and would have a flicker effect.

Fans then responded to Mang0e with their guesses of who it could be.

Many of them theorised that it could be Lara Croft.

Epic Games has not confirmed a Lara Croft skin.

Nor has any other official Tomb Raider or Fortnite associated accounts.

However, the official Tomb Raider Twitter account was recently spotted posting a cryptic tweet that featured a pickaxe emoji.

Fortnite fans will know that a pickaxe is an item commonly associated with the game.

We’ll have to wait for official confirmation before we know for sure if Lara Croft will be popping up in the game.

It’s not too farfetched to think she could though as Fortnite recently added a Blank Panther skin along with other Marvel hero options.

What is Fortnite, anyway?

FORTNITE is an online video game played by up to 250 million people across the world.

In it, 100 players compete on their own or with a small group of pals to grab weapons, gather resources and build defences, before fighting it out to be the last man (or team) standing.

Matches take about 20 minutes, and you can drop into a new game within seconds of your previous one finishing.

It’s bright, it’s cartoony and it’s fiendishly compelling.

Skill is rewarded but luck also plays a huge role, meaning no two games are ever the same and everyone feels like they have a chance of winning.

Fortnite has also made its developer billions.

In Europe it’s rated 12+, meaning it’s suitable for those aged 12 and up.

The battle royale mode is free to play, but there is also a story-driven single player and co-op mode called Save The World that players have to pay for.

Pop culture crossover events are very common because of the game’s huge audience.

These involve players being able to buy themed outfits for the movie, TV show or brand, as well as getting some themed activities in-game to do too.

These might be new places to explore, new challenges to complete to win themed accessories, or new game modes that are loosely related to the theme of whatever is being crossed over with.

Marvel superhero Black Panther arrives in Fortnite

In other news, a new tool called “Bufferi.ng” claims it can help people fake a bad video call connection so you can take a break from meetings.

A dangerous Amazon gift card scam emerged last month that can steal your bank account details in seconds.

And, a hacker locked up people’s penises by breaking into their “smart” chastity cages this month – and demanded a $750 ransom for their release.
