Positive test means Labour leader was not able to take part in prime minister’s questions and will miss budget debate

Keir Starmer has tested positive for Covid and cannot respond to the budget or to prime minister’s questions, the Labour party has confirmed.

Ed Miliband took prime minister’s questions and it is expected that Rachel Reeves, the shadow chancellor, will respond to the budget.
