STREAMER Kai Cenat has become Twitch’s most subscribed video star ever after taking the top spot from Ludwig.

The 21-year-old managed to gain a whooping 300,000 subscribers on the platform.

He’s been pushing to break the record since launching a subscription drive at the start of February.

The influencer has even been streaming himself sleep.

Fans have been paying between $5 and $25 to subscribe to the New York-born internet sensation.

“This is legendary,” he said as a live counter broke the record on Tuesday.

“This has been the hardest thing of my life and I’m glad I did it. We did it.

“Whatever you want to do, you can do it.”

The previous sub record was held by Ludwig Ahgren, who amassed more than 283,000 subscriptions back in 2021.

Cenat rose to fame on YouTube and has even appeared in a music video for rapper Lil Uzi Vert.

But he’s mostly known for Grand Theft Auto V live streams.

He was discovered by fellow content creator Fanum and joined the streaming group Any Means Possible (AMP), in 2020.

The group is known for prank and challenge videos, as well as gaming streams.

Kai lives alongside the other members of the group in their content house in AtlantaGeorgia.

Just two years after joining the group, he won Streamer of the Year and was nominated for Breakout Streamer of the Year at the Streamy Awards.

In October, he dethroned xQc as the most subscribed streamer on Twitch, with more than 80,000 (although he is not the most followed).

Reacting to the news, Laura Lee, Twitch’s chief content officer, told Bloomberg it’s “thrilling to see Kai and his community make waves and be seen. We are excited to see what they create together next.”
