According to Downdetector the issue started at around 9am, but appeared to be fixed by around 10am.

Users on Twitter complained to Just Eat that they were unable to use the website and app.

One said: “Hi @JustEatUK why the app just went down WHAT HAPPENED.”

Another said: “What is happening with orders since your app and website has gone down.”

And a third said: “If I miss McDonald’s breakfast because the app is down, we’re falling out.”

One user reported an error message which said “back soon”.

It read: “Closed for maintenance. The computers that run Just Eat are having a moment. Thanks for bearing with us, we’ll be soon back in business.”

Downdetector, a website which tracks online outages, suggests the issue affected the app and website in several areas of the UK.

We’ve asked Just Eat what was behind the issue and will update when we hear back.

We’ve also asked what customers should do if their order was affected by the problems.

Just Eat offers deliveries from top chains like McDonald’s as well as smaller independent and local takeaways.

You can order your meal and track deliveries so you can see when an order is on its way, and when the driver is close to your door.
