Johnny Depp Movies 2022, Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp will be director of his first film in 25 years. It comes a few months after his courtroom victory in the Amber Heard case.
The 59-year-old is set to direct the film Modigliani, a biopic on Italian painter and sculptor Amedeo Modigliani.
The Hollywood Reporter states production is set to start in Europe in spring next year.

However, casting for the film has not been revealed yet, reports add.
It comes after Depp was awarded $15 million damages in a defamation suit against ex-wife Amber Heard.

It marks the star’s first feature behind the camera since directing The Brave, which starred himself and Marlon Brando.
Barry Navidi and Al Pacino are said to be co-producing the film.
Based on the play by Dennis McIntyre, it has been adapted for the silver screen by Jerzy and Mary Kromolowski.
The movie will reflect on the artist’s life in 1916 in Paris over the span of 48 hours. It says the two days were a turning point for his life and helped cement his reputation as a legend as an artist.
“The saga of Mr. Modigliani’s life is one that I’m incredibly honored, and truly humbled, to bring to the screen,” said Depp.
“It was a life of great hardship, but eventual triumph — a universally human story all viewers can identify with.

It’s not the first step back in the movie industry for the star, as it was reported he will star as King Louis XV in Jeanne Du Barry. The cast were said to have begun shooting in late July and will be his first feature film in three years, Sky reports.
It follows Jeanne, a young-working class woman who uses her brain and allure to climb the social ladder, grabbing the attention of King Louis XV.
His previous major acting role was in 2020, in the independent film Minamata, where he played war photographer W Eugene Smith.
Depp won a defamation case against Amber Heard earlier this year. It came after an op-ed, written by the Aquaman star, in The Washington Post in 2018 described her as a domestic abuse survivor. The op-ed did not name the Edward Scissorhands actor by name. But his legal team argued it implied he was abusive in their relationship. Depp fiercely denied this.
A jury found in his favor and awarded him $10 million in compensatory damages and punitive damages totalling $15 million. Ms Heard was awarded compensatory damages of $2 million and no punitive damages.
