TWITTER users have poked fun at Dominic Cumming’s departure from Downing Street, comparing pictures of him outside Number 10 to a John Lewis advert.

Carrying a box, which could be mistaken for a Christmas present, Cummings leaving under the lamp light became a joke on social media.

One user wrote: “Why does Dominic Cummings leaving no10 look like something out of a John Lewis Christmas ad?”

Another said: “Are you telling me Dominic Cummings leaving No 10 wasn’t the John Lewis Christmas advert?”

This comes as Lewis Capaldi’s hilarious reaction to the advert had fans in stitches.

The Scottish singer shared a picture of one of the puppets from the Give A Little Love ad, joking about its resemblance to him.

“So pleased to have been apart of the new #johnlewischristmasadvert,” he joked on Twitter, leaving fans in stitches.
