THE jobs with the worst bosses have been revealed by a new survey – but is yours on the list?

The study also revealed the most common reason people hate their bosses, with low pay and laziness ranking high.

Researchers asked 3,445 across 29 different sectors whether or not they liked their boss and, if not, why?

Retail came out top, with over half of workers disliking their boss.

This was followed closely by healthcare, with 48 per cent unhappy.

According to the latest statistics, there were 4.2 million people working across these two sectors alone last year.

Rounding out the top three were sales workers, with 47 per cent disliking their employer.

Property and construction came fourth with 45 per cent.

Meanwhile, energy and utilities and public service and administration were joint-fifth worst with 42 per cent each.

Of the 29 sectors surveyed, creative arts and design came out best, with only 10 per cent of employees hating bosses.

The industry just pipped charity and voluntary work at 11 per cent.

In terms of the most common reasons for boss hatred, being underpaid topped the list with two thirds of workers feeling that they weren’t getting a fair deal.

Micromanagement came a fairly distant second at 46 per cent, with a lack of communication just behind at 43 per cent.

Other high-ranking reasons included bullying and laziness, according to the study commissioned by Reboot.

On the lower end of the scale, only five per cent reported bosses behaving inappropriately, while just nine per cent said their employers were incompetent.
