Chancellor asks OBR to prepare forecast for first full budget, after post-Truss autumn statement

Jeremy Hunt is to deliver his first full budget on 15 March next year, giving him the chance to respond to what is expected to be a recession-hit winter for the UK economy.

The chancellor said on Monday that he had asked the Office for Budget Responsibility to prepare a comprehensive set of forecasts as he sought to further restore the Conservative party’s reputation for financial orthodoxy.
