James Martinez is the convicted murderer of Sandra Walton and Michael Humphreys. Sandra was his ex-girlfriend, as they had dated briefly, and during the relationship, he loaned her $1,000. After the relationship ended, Martinez started stalking, harassing, and threatening Walton and quickly demanding a loan refund.
On September 21, 2000. Martinez went to Walton’s condominium in Fort Worth, where he stayed outside for about 20 or 30 minutes, knocking on Walton’s door. During that time, he went with the intention of killing and also said to Walton that her time had come.
Later that evening, Martinez encountered Walton, and her friend, Michael, as they were returning from a trip to buy fast food. After that, Martinez fired 20 to 27 shots from a .223-caliber rifle into their vehicle, hitting Walton nine times and Humphreys eight times. Walton passed away in the driver’s seat of her car, while Humphreys died about 10 feet from the car.

Ashford looked in the bag and noticed the rifle, later defined to be the murder weapon, among other items. So, he buried the bag but later informed its location to the police. Moreover, Martinez was sentenced on January 2, 2002.
