FAST FOOD fans are rushing to get a cheap-as-chips deal on a “spot on” McDonald’s meal-deal dupe.
The savvy supermarket shopper spotted the deal then jumped online to let other bargain-hunters know about it.
The anonymouse bargain-hunter found the deal in Heron Foods, and was astounded at the price – and how the items tasted.
The shopper posted it on a Facebook group called Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK – a group where Brits keep eachother in-the-know on the latest deals they’ve found.
The post read: “Thought this could help some people.
“This is the Heron Foods freezer deal this week – and can I just say the nuggets taste like McDonald’s.“
The deal includes frozen chicken nuggets, a 1.8kg bag of fries, ice lollies and the choice of either beans or mozzarella sticks.
The deal only costs £5 and is more than enough to feed a family-of-five, making it just £1 per meal – a vital saving for struggling families contending with the cost-of-living crisis.
The spotter went on to say that she was “pleasantly surprised” at the taste of the meal, noting the nuggets tasted “just like McDonald’s” after cooking them in her air-fryer.
Commenters were quick to throw in their opinion on the deal.

One user said: “Heron always has the best deals, it’s the best shop for saving money.”
And a second user said: “Wish we had one close to Morecambe.”
A third chimed in agreeing with the original poster, they said: “We buy these nuggets all the time, they actually taste like McDonald’s.”
But one disgruntled shopper wasn’t as keen after trying a different item in the deal.
They said: “The chips though, they’re like french fries cut in half.”
LITTLE-KNOWN SUPERMARKET: HERON FOODS
Heron Foods has hundreds of branches across the nation, and prides itself on offering “big-name bargains for less” which can save Brits vital cash on their monthly shop.
The frozen food supermarket – which also stocks chilled items – was a family business until it was bought by B&M Stores in 2017.
Since the takeover the company has multiplied their selection of stores and now employs over 5000 people across 300 stores.
The majority of locations are in the North East and Midlands but the network is increasing, with some stores already in Cardiff and Luton.
Shoppers often spot bargains in store and quickly spread the word for other punters to take advantage of the items on offer.
MORE BASKET-WORTHY BARGAINS
Recently, choco-holics went crazy for offers on “party size” bags of M&M’s that had been massively reduced.
And just last month, loved-up shoppers raced to get to Heron Foods to get their hands on their epic Valentine’s Day deal.
But it’s not just Heron shoppers that bask in cash-saving bargains.
