Is Twitch down?
Streaming platform, Twitch has been experiencing intermittent outages as of March 21, 2022.
Users have been reporting problems accessing past streams, exporting videos, and signing in to the platform.
Nearly 29 percent of people reported problems with website, 61 percent with video streaming, and 9 percent are unable to use the app, according to Down Detector.
Twitch is aware of the issue and released a statement on Twitter regarding the outage, saying: “? We are investigating an issue preventing VODs from loading. Thank you for your reports!”

Twitter users demanded to know when the outage would be fixed, as one wrote: “when are u fixing? Seems ongoing.”
Another replied: “your guys’ platform shouldn’t break so often it’s incredibly annoying.”
Twitch previously experienced outages on December 15, 2021.
The outages came weeks after users logged on to platforms such as Whatsapp and Instagram and also reported technical issues when attempting to run the apps on their mobile devices along with a dozen other apps.
Prior to that round of outages, Facebook caused major upset when hundreds of users complained they were seeing a blank screen when trying to access their feeds via web browsers on Friday, April 30.
How can I check if Twitch is not working?
Those who may be experiencing difficulties with Twitch can check another social media app such as Twitter for reports.
If you don’t have a Twitter account Down Detector will tell users when the apps are down or experiencing difficulties.
If it appears the problem may not be widespread, try checking the internet connection on your device or exiting the app before logging back in.
When have there been Twitch outages before?
There have been other reported Twitch outages in the past including:
- March 21, 2022 : Users reported not being able to video stream on the platform.
- December 15, 2021: User are unable to access the website and unable to load chats.
- October 12, 2021: Users reported not being able to access the website or any video streaming.
- October 6, 2021: Worldwide outage caused users to have problems loading streaming.
- September 22, 2021: Over 150 users were unable to load videos at about 6pm, with the problem persisting mildly through the evening.
- September 20, 2021: An outage reported at 11am lasted through 8pm with users complaining they were unable to log in.
