THE Post Office offers many services – from sending a package and ordering currency to paying bills and passport check and send.
But essential Post Office services may vary over Bank Holidays. Here’s everything you need to know.
Is the Post Office open on the May Bank Holiday?
There are around 11,500 Post Office branches across the UK, the majority of which are run independently or as a franchise arrangement.
Post Office branches are normally closed on Sundays, and Bank Holidays.
However, in local Post Office branches, the services should be available if the retail business is open on the Bank Holiday on May 29, 2023.
Opening times vary from branch to branch as there are no set hours across the network, so it’s best to check ahead.
You can go to the Post Office website and use its store locator tool.
Enter your postcode and you can check your nearest branch hours.
If the Post Office is open you can mail your parcels and letters, but they will not be picked up by Royal Mail until the next working day.
Royal Mail collects and delivers your post six days a week.
