Is Peacock down?

According to the Services Down website, Peacock users began issuing complaints that the app had crashed or was taking too long to load.

There were almost 300 reports on the app in the first twenty minutes and users commented for the streaming service to either fix the problem or refund them their money.

Complaints range from users seeing a 404 error to not being able to access the app on their tablets or cellular devices.

“It’s a Pea**** issue,” one person said. “Wasn’t working on the smart tv app or mobile app on tablet. Now it’s working on both.

“Clearly some ***hole at Pea**** *finally* realized there was a problem 20 minutes into the game…”

How can I check if the app is not working?

The Peacock app has difficulties pairing with Samsung televisions, according to the Samsung website, and the company advises checking to make sure the app is compatible with the device.

A simple step if the app isn’t working is to troubleshoot it on your device and Peacock recommends closing all apps and restarting your device in case there are other applications still running in the background.

Users can also try clearing the cache and cookies on their device, check if your device is properly connected to the internet, and as a last measure, uninstall and reinstall the app.

If the app still isn’t working, Peacock advises users to contact customer support for help at 212-664-7864.

When else has Peacock’s app stopped working?

Peacock’s streaming service went down over the summer and it was reportedly due to a VPN and power shortage issue.

The repeated issues come as Peacock struggles to take off as a primary streaming service and has only a 1.6 percent demand from users.

This is compared to HBO Max and Disney+ that have between a 6.1 percent and 8.9 percent demand and Netflix as the top streaming service with a 43.7 percent demand.

Julia Alexander, a senior strategy analyst at Parrot Analytics told Variety, “The issue with Peacock right now as it stands is that the demand for its originals is effectively nonexistent.”

She said her comment is not based on the quality of the streaming service, but on its inability to collect revenue and reach the same level of success as Netflix.

“Until there’s an audience, you’re just kind of pushing stuff out and hoping people show up,” Alexander said.
