Is Netflix down? App status updates

IT is reported that Netflix were experiencing streaming difficulties on May 7, 2022.

Many across the US are reporting that their Netflix is either down or not working properly, while there has been no problems reported across the UK.

Is Netflix down?

On May 7, 2022, many reported issues with Netflix not working.

77 percent are having issues with video streaming, and 16 percent are experiencing problems with the app, according to Down Detector.

7 percent of users reported that the website was not working correctly.

The site saw a spike in reports around 8am EST.

The streaming giant previously had technical issues in March too, on the 8 and 25.

Many users took to Twitter on March 8 and posted about the streaming app being down. “the one time i wanna watch Netflix and it’s down,” one user wrote.

“is netflix down or is it just me” another asked.

This follows Netflix’s series throughout November 2021. The app previously reported problems and outages being on November 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 9th, 15th, and 28th.

During the January 17, 2022 outage, users posted on Down Detector about their issues. “when i go into Netflix and try to play something the screen will freeze and bring me back to my home screen on my tv,” one person revealed.

“When I try to play something it just buffers,” another noted.

According to Down Detector’s map, outages were prominent in larger cities such as Los Angeles.

How can I check if Netflix is not working

Those who may be experiencing difficulties with Netflix can check another social media app such as Twitter for reports.

If you don’t have a Twitter account Down Detector will tell users when the apps are down or experiencing difficulties.

If it appears the problem may not be widespread, try checking the internet connection on your device or exiting the app before logging back in.
