FORTNITE is suffering from server issues that are preventing players from entering games.
While players can still get online, some players have found it impossible for them to play in a match with others.
The error is not affecting all players and it is possible that you will be able to play a Battle Royale match.
Other game modes that don’t require matchmaking also seem to be unaffected.
Epic Games is currently investigating the issue which appears to be limited to the matchmaking service.
This is the software inside Fortnite that decides which opponents you will face.
Matchmaking is a difficult process, which tries to match players of a similar skill level together.
This ensures that hardcore players are met with the correct amount of challenge, while newcomers still have a chance to get involved in a game.
It is unclear what specifically is causing the problem, but Epic is aware of the issue.
Often Fortnite will encounter issues shortly after an update, but there hasn’t been a recent update to cause changes.

Likely the issue is only temporary and will be solved before long.
According to the Epic Games website, matchmaking is only facing a ‘partial outage’.
This could mean that the issue is limited to one specific server, or that the issue only occurs some of the time.
If you are unable to enter a match, the best action is to quit the game and try again.
However, if you still can’t enter a match after several attempts you will have to wait until the issue is resolved.
