The handy hack was revealed in a Reddit thread about iPhone tricks.

The user who created the thread wrote: “Wasn’t aware of the photo/press and drag tip. This is awesome.”

Another replied: “That trick is so handy for moving apps.”

“I just tried it. Surprisingly easy. I was making the mistake of opening the message but that didn’t work. Dropping it on top of the message in the list did the job.”

How to do the iPhone photo trick

Open your Photos app and then go to Albums > Recents.

Now hold down on an image thumbnail until you see a tiny wiggle then move it side-to-side with your finger.

This should let you drag the thumbnail around the screen.

Now use a second finger and tap on other thumbnails while still holding the first.

This will add them all to a single stack.

Then – all while holding the stack of images – use a second finger to swipe up from the bottom of the screen, then tap on the Messages app.

Now simply drop the stack on top of a conversation.

This will instantly fill the chat bar with your chosen images.

Then you can instantly send them along with a comment or emoji.

Another top tip

Another extremely handy tip in the thread is text replacement.

The original poster wrote: “My tip is the Text Replacement feature.

“Anytime I hit @@ it will replace itself with my email address. Super handy for logging into apps or filling out forms on your phone.

“I’ve been doing that for about 10 years so nothing new… but still use it regularly.”

Setting up a text replacement is very easy.

Just go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement.
